Crater Lake is one of the hardest things I've ever tried to photograph. It is so massive, and so massively stunning, that no picture begins to do it justice. When we pulled up to the first lookout this afternoon, all of us (even Josie), were mesmerized. There really aren't words to describe how breathtaking the lake and its accompanying Wizard Island are. It sure didn't hurt that the sun was shining and the water was this magnificent shade of deep blue seen above (photo has not been photoshopped). I'm embarrassed to say that I've lived in Oregon for almost 20 years, but had never seen Crater Lake in person before today.

day one hundred eighty-two: crater lake
