Avery has just (as in 2 days ago) started playing the clarinet in preparation for 5th grade band, and once again I'm shocked that my kids have any musical talent whatsoever. I'm not sure I could learn to play an instrument if my life depended on it, but it seems to come relatively easy to the youngsters so far. Clearly they get those genes from the other side of the family. Andrew's youngest brother, AJ, is nothing short of a musical genius. He plays several instruments beautifully, and is completely self-taught. Today he treated us to a brief performance with his newest instrument of choice, the cello.
